I’ve written a short story inspired by my time reviewing the many and varied cafes of London. It’s called The Family Plumb Cafe.
The story centres around Molly, who wants nothing more than to work in one of these cafes. When she finds her perfect job in the Family Plumb Cafe, she couldn’t be happier.
But slowly it all starts to unravel as things start to make less and less sense and the family’s perfect veneer starts to peel.
Why can’t she find anything out about their past? Why did Mr Plumb leave his high paid job in the city? Did the cafe really used to be a butcher’s?
Inspired by an actual building just outside Crouch End, this short story is available to buy for a very reasonably priced 99p on Kindle.
This is my second short story to be published, the first was part of an anthology called Jam.
